Sultana has loved to express herself through movement to music since before she could walk.  She is one of the most popular, dedicated, and exciting soloist belly dancers in the New York night club and hookah lounge scene, performing regularly at various venues and private parties throughout the NYC area.  Sultana's performances are known for being passionately expressive and exude enthusiasm, energy and superior technique.  Her warm and outgoing personality compliments her energetic style, making her outstanding and in high demand as an entertainer. 

In addition to performing weekly at several NYC restaurants, nightclubs, and hookah lounges, Sultana has also performed for many special events and parties throughout the New York area and beyond including performances for the ambassador of Qatar to the USA, Saudi Arabian Royalty, the grand opening at Le Souk Harem nightclub in New York City, NYC's Mercedes Benz Fashion week, movie opening parties for various celebrity audiences, the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Egyptian room opening, world famous nightclub Webster Hall, the popular TV show America's Got Talent, several music videos, a New York Film Academy movie production, and by invitation at the closing gala for the International Bellydance Conference of Canada.  Sultana has made appearances with Bellydance America on Fox's Good Day New York, and has had the privilege of doing the introduction to Mohamed Shahin's DVD Dance Like an Egyptian Vol. 2.  She also has a featured performance in Jehan Kamal's DVD "Bellydance with Fan Veils".  Some of Sultana's theater production appearances include "Creature" with Ru Paul's drag race winner Bebe Zahara Benet, "Cirque Arabesque - A Caravan of Dreams" at the Manhattan Movement and Arts Center, "The Pearl" at the Schermerhorn Theater, and "The Choreographer's Canvas" also at the Manhattan Movement and Arts Center.

Sultana began her dance training at the age of 5 in jazz, tap, lyrical, character and ballet, performing and competing in local and national competitions.  She credits the late Shirley Larkin and her daughters Michele and Molly of Larkin Dance Studio in Maplewood, MN for her early training in jazz and tap.  A natural lover of show business and the arts, she cultivated a passion for the stage, performing, and pageantry at an early age, gaining poise and showmanship as a child.  A Minnesota native, she became involved in many opportunities to perform such as beauty pageants, dance competitions, cheerleading events, and musical theater productions.  She discovered her love of Middle Eastern dance in 2002 and has become dedicated to the art form ever since.  Sultana's relationship with dance is like traveling a never ending and amazing journey, each step of the way progressing forward revealing beauty and love.  She is continuously learning and being inspired along the way through her experiences with life.

Sultana credits the world renowned Jehan Kamal as her mentor and as the woman who helped her to start her career as a belly dancer. Sultana has been greatly influenced by Jehan's style of dance and inspired by her continuous generosity towards her students.  Sultana has also studied extensively in the United States and Egypt with other well known and respected teachers such as Cassandra Shore, Nourhan Sharif, Azza Amon, Ranya Renee, Yousry Sharif, Gamila El Masry, and Egypt's most famous choreographer and performer, Mahmoud Reda.   She has taken workshops and intensive master classes with Hassan Afifi, Raquia Hassan, Soraia Zaied, Randa Kamel, Aida Nour, Faten Salama, Mohamed Shahin, Karim Nagi, Tito, Nour, Jillina, and many others. She is a member of the Temple of Jehan and the performing theatrical group, Bellydance Raks Stars, led by Jehan Kamal, which carries on the philosophy of sacred Belly Dance as an ancient art form, healing and empowering for people of all backgrounds and walks of life.

Sultana is available for weddings, birthday parties, bar/bat mitzvahs, theatre and stage productions, family events, corporate parties, and any special event.  Her charisma, warm personality, technical strengths, energetic style, and dedication to her art has gained her recognition among the belly dance community and those who love the performing arts.  In addition to performing, Sultana currently teaches weekly classes at Bellydance America and has taught the art of Middle Eastern dance at other prestigious schools throughout the New York area such as Steps on Broadway, the Manhattan Movement and Arts Center, Queens Community College, and Taliah Performing Arts Center. 

In addition to dance, Sultana is also a talented theater and film actress and is an active member of New York City's Michael Chekhov Theater Company.  She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications and Psychology.
