Creator of "NYC All Star Circus & Free Ignition aka got fire?"

Ms Phoenix has trained Professionally with fire since 2005. The 1st time she breathe fire it reached a spectacular size! Since this she has been known for her fiery fierceness that involve master techniques and wild antics that includes most every prop known to the art including fire eating, breathing and crowd pleasing participation. Phoenix has been featured in television, movies, and commercials both Nationally and World Wide, including her eating fire in the 2009-12 opening montage to Saturday Night Live. She has worked with Cirque du Soleil and many NYC based performance troupes. She also is a resident performer and the fire coordinator for many of the NYC Underground parties such as the infamous Danger Parties and W & B Present as well as creator of the renegade fire posse Free Ignition.

Ms Phoenix teaches classes, groups and privates, to both children and adults. Her classes available to both children and adults alike are fireless tool manipulation, and include, but are not limited too, hula hoop(s), poi, staff (staves), ribbon(s), flags, palms, fans, and much more. She also teaches (18+ only) tool manipulation on fire. Phoenix also custom makes props and fire gear based on customer's specifications with additional tool making and fire safety courses also available. Phoenix has been involved in two world records including being the only female on the planet to catch a knife thrown by professional knife thrower The Great Throwdini on a full turn. She performs for an array of clientale including cooperate events, bars , clubs, children's and teen's parties, video & photography shoots, and all those EPIC underground warehouse parties that are the glitter and grind of NYC Night Life. Phoenix is the sole inventor and only performer in the world to fire kiss the audience giving an unique glimpse into her world. Fire isn't her only passion Phoenix has a double whip routine that will scare and delight you. She also performs on stilts, throws knives, and is diligently working on aerial silks, lyra, and trapeze. Phoenix plans on retiring from some of the more deadly arts by September 2013 and will be having a not to be missed show to end on! Details TBA. Don't fret she is only retiring from 5 skills and not circus altogether, she still has dozens of other skills she will be performing now and after retirement! !! !!!

Fire Safety is Phoenix's priority (all safety third jokes aside) and happily we can report a flawless record of safety including for all participants, audience members, other performers, and venues, etc. Phoenix has performer's insurance anyway. Even though Ms Phoenix has risked her personal safety and done astounding stunts like dance in no protective gear inside a burning temple - barefoot, shoot 24+ foot fire balls into the air, eaten fire while swinging on trapeze, and set ablaze the tongues of hundreds of unsuspecting audience members, she has managed to come out of it all unscathed and has never burnt another. We thank the Gods & Goddesses of fire for this and respectfully follow their rules and wisdom when harnessing the mystery of the flame.

Hula Hoopist and Vaudeville Performer

Vanessa Vortex has been a circus fan her entire life. Raised in New York City by Broadway superstars, Vanessa now draws on years of growing up under dancing feet and hanging out on both sides of the backstage curtain.

Miss Vortex performs several circus style hula hoop acts designed to suit all types of events and audiences. Her unique tricks and captivating stage presence are inspired by her background in dance and theater and her passion for juggling, fire twirling and acrobatics. Vanessa enjoys creating original eye-catching material which give her performances exceptional flair. She has made appearances across North America as part of circus and vaudeville shows and as a solo artist in nightclubs and at special events around the world.

She is eager to collaborate with other performers and is especially attracted to traveling circus shows. In addition to dazzling displays on stage, Miss Vortex teaches hula hoop classes for all ages and fabricates custom hula hoops.

Vanessa Vortex travels frequently chasing circus shows and other exotic situations. Don’t hesitate to look her up from any geographical location.

“Vanessa Vortex rocks! She rolls! She can do uncanny things with hoops with the kind of easy elegance that takes much work! And she has big
red style! There were some hot acts on last year’s Aqua Chautauqua, but
EVERYBODY remembered Vanessa after she walked off stage!”
